Advice for the Lawlorn: Are Your Interviewing Basics Making You Look Bad?

As someone who often interviews candidates, I sometimes find it a little creepy when the candidate lets me know that she's researched me. I think asking a litigator about a previous case is expected, but asking a person whether they enjoyed attending XXX school is inappropriate.
