Albany County Supreme Court Justices Joseph Teresi and Thomas Breslin and Onondaga County Acting Supreme Court Justice John Brunetti began presiding over trials, some dating back to 2009, in the Bronx yesterday.

    How is this even legal? If I was supposed to go to trial back in 2009, and it is now 2013, um...doesn't logic dictate that a Speedy Trial Motion should be automatically granted? Or are the DAs and Judges going to argue that a 6 year backlog somehow is attributable to the defendant? This is a travesty. The logical way to conclude these cases, INSTEAD OF WASTING MILLIONS ON JUDGES, DAs, REPORTERS, COURT SECURITY GUARDS and other staffing, FRIGGIN DISMISS THE CASES...it's not that complicated. I hope everyone who has been waiting 5 years for trial, WILL APPEAL ALL DECISION (except acquittal). This is really some stupid chit.
