Panel Absolves Dechert of Blame in Dreier Scam

In its lawsuit, Fortress accused Dechert of issuing an "utterly false legal opinion letter" and failing to do "even the most basic due diligence" before preparing an opinion. The suit also claimed that Dechert had said in a letter that it was serving as counsel to Marc S. Dreier and to Solow Realty, even though it never had any contact with the latter.
