State Supreme Court Justice Patricia DiMango is going to Hollywood.

DiMango, who was appointed three weeks ago as the administrative judge for criminal matters in Brooklyn, will star in "Hot Bench," a syndicated show created by Judith Sheindlin, better known as television personality "Judge Judy."

DiMango and two Los Angeles-based attorneys will form the "hot bench," hearing cases, arguing their merits and then rendering verdicts on camera. A "hot bench" refers to a panel of judges who actively question lawyers and litigants during court proceedings.

Hot Bench is the first show created by Scheindlin, a former New York City Family Court judge. She told an entertainment website that the idea for the show came after visiting Ireland and watching a three-judge bench interact in court.

The show is set to air in the fall.

DiMango, who was appointed to the bench in 1995 and elected to the Supreme Court in Brooklyn six years later, spent most of 2012 helping to clear a backlog of felony cases in the Bronx, successfully resolving hundreds of old cases.

Media reports have cited her brash, no-nonsense style on the bench. A 2011 New York Times article described DiMango's courtroom as a place where "justice takes a swift, personal, sometimes acerbic, turn, creating riveting reality-television drama rarely seen in mundane proceedings."

Reached in her office on Thursday, DiMango referred all comment to an executive at CBS Television Distribution. A public relations representative issued a statement in DiMango's name saying her 16 years as a state Supreme Court judge have been "the most rewarding time of my professional life."

"I cherish the relationships and friendships that I have developed throughout the years. I look forward to the next chapter of my life with this exciting new adventure."
