Elizabeth Wolford
Rochester attorney Elizabeth Wolford has been recommended by U.S. Senator Charles Schumer to fill the only vacancy on the Western District bench. If Wolford is nominated by the White House and confirmed by the Senate, Wolford would become the first woman judge ever in the Buffalo-based district.
Wolford, 46, is a Buffalo native who lives in Honeoye Falls. Her seven-lawyer Wolford Law Firm of Rochester, where her father and brother also work, specializes in business, commercial and employment litigation in both federal and state courts. She is a 1992 graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School. Schumer said Wolford has the "right skills and intellect to be an insightful, modest and well-respected judge." Wolford is being recommended to fill the opening created in December when Judge Charles Siragusa (See Profile) took senior status.
