• Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher has added Arthur Long as a partner. Previously a partner at Davis Polk & Wardwell, Long will continue to focus on the regulation of banks and other financial institutions.

• Kleinberg, Kaplan, Wolff & Cohen has added Claudio De Vellis as a member in the estate planning and administration practice. He was a partner at Smith, Gambrell & Russell.

• Hand Baldachin & Amburgey has hired Stuart Nayman as a partner focusing on private and public company counseling, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity transactions, and private and public securities offerings. He was a partner at Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale and Dorr.

• Goldberg Segalla has promoted two attorneys to partner: Sean McKinley, Workers' Compensation, Garden City, and Andrew Scholz, litigation, White Plains. Also, Brian Middlebrook, product liability, White Plains, has been promoted to special counsel.

• Ballon Stoll Bader & Nadler has promoted to partner Michael Sheppeard, who focuses on litigation and corporate.

• Coughlin & Gerhart has elected as a partner Meiying Austin, estate planning, Binghamton.

• Charles Cantine, intellectual property, has been promoted to the partnership of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan. The firm also promoted Beth Clark, litigation, and Jason Sobel, intellectual property, as special counsel.

• Alter Mantel has elected to its partnership Doxia Dargaty, real estate acquisition, development and complex financing transactions.

• Chaffetz Lindsey has promoted Andreas Frischknecht, litigation and dispute resolution, to partner, and Jennifer Gorskie, commercial and investment treaty arbitration and domestic litigation, to counsel.

• Haynes and Boone has promoted Jonathan Pressment, business litigation, and Michael McCarthy, real estate, to the partnership.
