• Carter Ledyard & Milburn has added Pamela Mann as partner in the trusts and estates department and as chair of the tax-exempt organizations group. She joins from the Mann Legal Group, which she founded in 1996.

• George Freeman has joined Jenner & Block as of counsel in the content, media and entertainment practice. He was most recently vice president and assistant general counsel at The New York Times Co.

• Flaster/Greenberg has added John Fried, formerly a name partner of Fried & Epstein, as a shareholder based in Manhattan and Pleasantville. He is a member of the insurance coverage counseling and litigation for policyholders practice group and serves as head of the white-collar criminal defense practice.

• Hodgson Russ has elected to its partnership Jessica Bilkey in Buffalo, federal/international tax; Joseph Brown, Buffalo, business litigation; Joshua Feinstein, Buffalo, business litigation; Christopher Martell, Albany, real estate and finance; and Bethany Trachtenberg, Manhattan, health law.

• Michelle Levin, white-collar criminal defense, has been elected to the partnership of Steptoe & Johnson.

• Baker & McKenzie has elected to its partnership Jacob Kaplan, litigation; Michele Maney, corporate and securities; and Eric Weber, tax.

• Cohen & Gresser has promoted to partner Jonathan Abernethy, white-collar defense and corporate compliance; Robert Gavigan, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance; and Nathaniel Read, complex business and financial disputes. The firm also promoted to counsel Christopher Jackson, commercial litigation and product liability litigation.

• Hogan Lovells has promoted Lisa Fried, commercial litigation, and Gary Serbin, patent litigation, as partners, and Derek Meilman, corporate, as counsel.
