J. David Dantzler Jr.
Troutman Sanders has named a new managing partner of its New York office, J. David Dantzler Jr., who has relocated from Atlanta to serve in the position. A partner at Troutman since 2005, Dantzler previously led the firm's securities litigation and critical matters practices.
A 1981 law graduate of the University of Georgia, Dantzler was a partner at McKenna Long & Aldridge from 1998 to 2005 before joining Troutman. He focuses on corporate and securities litigation, including cases involving allegations of fraud, breach of fiduciary duty and other business torts.
Dantzler succeeds Aurora Cassirer, who will continue to serve on the firm's executive committee and will continue her business litigation practice. Cassirer has led the office since 2005, when about 90 lawyers from now-defunct Jenkens & Gilchrist joined Troutman Sanders to create its New York branch. About 100 attorneys now practice in Troutman's New York office, a firm spokesman said.
