Nonprofits and public interest legal groups interested in hosting a summer fellow can now get funds from the New York Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the New York State Bar Association. The foundation is accepting applications from New York-based groups to receive $6,000 toward summer corporate counsel fellowship for first- and second-year law students of diverse backgrounds. Students must be enrolled in a New York law school and are expected to assist the legal staffs of their host organizations from June through August 2013.

The fellowship grant program, now in its second year, is supported by donations from the Corporate Counsel Section of the state bar and other donors. For more information, visit www.tnybf.org. The application deadline is Jan. 7.
