Comprehensive Immigration Reform Is Waiting in the Wings

In their Immigration Law column, Angelo A. Paparelli of Seyfarth Shaw and Ted J. Chiappari and Olivia M. Sanson of Satterlee Stephens Burke & Burke write: Our government has an obligation to see that the rule of law is upheld and to ensure our national security. And that means reform and effective enforcement of immigration laws, but as long as the extreme partisanship manifested in the fiscal-cliff debate continues, we can expect to see only modest gains this year in rights, remedies and reforms for foreign nationals in our immigration system.
