In her Securities Regulation column, Roberta S. Karmel, Centennial Professor of Law and co-director of the Dennis J. Block Center for International Business Law at Brooklyn Law School, writes that It is a little over 25 years since the ?stock market crash of Oct. 19, 1987, when the market lost 23 percent of its value, and then continued to fall the next morning, triggering a near closing of the New York Stock Exchange before the market turned around.
