The Legal Aid Society dedicated its new Marshall Green Mobile Justice Unit on Nov. 16 at the Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center in Far Rockaway, Queens. The unit will travel to under-served areas throughout greater New York to provide free legal help to Hurricane Sandy victims in addition to its existing work of providing civil, criminal and juvenile legal services.
On hand for the ribbon cutting, from left, are Adriene Holder, attorney-in-charge of Legal Aid's civil practice; Marshall Green, attorney-in-charge of the Bronx civil practice, for whom the unit was named; Steven Banks, attorney-in-chief of the society; Richard Davis, the society's chairman and a former partner at Weil, Gotshal & Manges; and Michael Weinstein, chief program officer at the Robin Hood Foundation, which provided some funding for the unit.
