Carlton Fields, a 300-attorney firm with offices in Florida and Atlanta, has opened a New York office with six attorneys from Rosner & Napierala, including name partners Brian Rosner and Natalie Napierala.
Carlton Fields had been exploring a New York office for about six years, said firm president and chief executive officer Gary Sasso. "It became increasingly evident that we needed to be in New York. Our lawyers are spending a lot of time there," Sasso said.
The addition of the Rosner attorneys, who focus on corporate litigation, corporate governance, securities and tax law, will strengthen Carlton Fields' practices in litigation, corporate, finance and international work, Sasso said.
Napierala said she and Rosner wanted to grow their firm and were attracted to the resources Carlton Fields provides. Rosner said the partners were not looking for a firm combination, but followed up on a cold call about Carlton Fields. Lawyers at the two firms have been in talks since March, Rosner said.
