Head of New Financial Services Agency Plans to Keep His Distance From Entities He Regulates

In a public speech at the New York City Bar's headquarters, Benjamin Lawsky expressed concern about a "one-size-fits-all" approach to regulation and said that the relationship between regulators and those they regulate was a large factor in the failure to prevent conduct that led to the financial crisis, a closeness he has already taken steps to remedy.
