Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman has pledged to amend his bill to raise the age of criminal responsibility to 18 from 16 for non-violent offenses to assuage concerns from counties about its cost. "We're well on our way to addressing that issue," Lippman said in an interview on June 21, the day that the Legislature adjourned without taking up court system's bill.
