City Calls for Review of 'Excessive' Bills From FDNY Monitor

New York Law Journal

June 11, 2012

With oral arguments approaching on the city's appeal of Eastern District Judge Nicholas Garaufis' remedial order and its bid to have him removed from the case for alleged bias, Corporation Counsel Michael Cardozo complained in a June 6 letter of "wastefulness" by monitor Mark Cohen of Cohen & Gresser after the judge approved a second bill by Cohen in excess of $300,000, without giving the city an opportunity to object.
