Grand Jury Witnesses Absolutely Immune From §1983 Liability

In his Section 1983 Litigation column, Martin A. Schwartz, a professor at Touro Law Center, reviews the recent U.S. Supreme Court opinion in 'Rehberg v. Paulk' that held that grand jury witnesses enjoy the same absolute immunity as trial witnesses, protecting not only the in-court testimony of grand jury witnesses, but also alleged conspiracies to give perjured testimony and witness preparation.
